# Vitals vs iStatistica Pro

By Atta Ur Rehman Shah, maker of Vitals. iStatistica Pro checked on its maker's site September 22, 2026.

**Short answer:** Vitals is the better choice if you want to replace Activity Monitor. It counts every helper process under its app, keeps 30 days of history per app and finds dev servers and their ports, with temperatures and force quit built in, no plug-in needed. iStatistica Pro is a low-cost Mac App Store monitor with widgets, a web dashboard and a REST API, and it runs on much older versions of macOS.
